Floss Lock

Terms of use

Last updated 6 October 2026.

These terms cover the Floss Lock app, Floss Lock Plus and Family, and flosslock.com. “We” and “us” mean the developer of Floss Lock. Using the app means you agree to them. They sit alongside Apple’s Licensed Application End User License Agreement, which also applies when you get the app from the App Store.

What Floss Lock is, and isn’t

Floss Lock is a habit tool. It locks apps you choose until you floss, and keeps track of the nights you did. It isn’t a medical device, doesn’t diagnose or treat anything, and doesn’t replace checkups or advice from your own dentist. Facts in the app show their sources, but they’re general information, not advice for you. If your gums bleed, hurt or swell and it doesn’t settle after two weeks of daily flossing, see a dentist.

The lock

The lock uses Apple’s Screen Time tools, so it depends on your iPhone and iOS. You choose what to lock and when. Don’t lock apps you may need in an emergency. The lock can be turned off by removing its Screen Time permission or deleting the app, and we can’t promise it will hold in every case or that iOS changes won’t affect it. The camera check counts flossing motion; it can make mistakes, and the timer is always available.

Floss Lock Plus and Family

Family boards

Use a nickname, and only invite people you know. Be kind with cheers and nudges. Parents can remove members, and we may remove boards or members that are misused.

Toothy and our content

Floss Lock, Toothy, the app’s art, text and code belong to us. You may share screenshots and your report card. Please don’t copy the app, its art or Toothy for your own products.

Fair use

Don’t try to break, overload or reverse engineer the app or our servers, or use them to bother other people.

Changes and ending

We may change or stop features, and update these terms. If a change matters, we’ll update the date above and tell you in the app. You can stop using Floss Lock any time by deleting it.

No warranty, and limits

Floss Lock is provided “as is”. To the extent the law allows, we don’t promise it will be uninterrupted or error-free, and we aren’t liable for indirect or consequential losses, such as a missed message while an app was locked. Our total liability to you is limited to what you paid us for Floss Lock in the 12 months before the claim. Nothing here limits rights you have under consumer law that can’t be limited.

Law

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Texas, USA, except where your local consumer law says otherwise.
